Key Stage 3 Geography
Geography Pathways Year 8 Pupil’s Book

Course Information:
Geography Pathways is a brand new book-per-year course that makes Geography for 11-14 years relevant, engaging and progressive. Each book offers complete coverage of the new CCEA Key Stage 3 curriculum and has been written especially for Northern Ireland to contextualise pupil’s knowledge and understanding. A unique feature of the series will highlight the pupil-centered approach of the new curriculum by providing opportunities for developing pupils as individuals and as contributors to society, the economy and the environment. The first book for Year 8 explores ‘My Place’ using local examples to engage pupil’s interest in the themes of work, ecosystems, farming, food, landscape and weather.
Key Features:
- A thematic approach to learning enables pupils to develop ideas and skills using relevant, real-life contexts that they can relate to.
- Clear learning intentions for each chapter to enforce a personalised learning experience.
- Get Active! tasks to promote understanding through progressive thinking and learning strategies using the five CCEA-defined skill categories for research; managing information, decision-making, demonstrating creativity and team work, in addition to map work and enquiry skills.
- Extension activities including weblinks to develop a deeper understanding of concepts by providing further opportunities for research.
- A Geography in the News chapter and issue-based enquiries to provide opportunities for coursework and fieldwork using a range of methods for undertaking geographical investigation.
