The first section consists of five chapters, each focusing on one
of the five main context areas (everyday activities; personal and
social life; the world around us; the world of work; and the international
world). Within these chapters are frequent tips and study skills,
efficient revision techniques and key language points, with cross-references
to a clear reference section provided at the back of the book.
The second section consists of four chapters, each focusing on
one of the four skills (listening, reading, speaking, writing).
The tasks in this section are modelled closely on GCSE papers and
are differentiated for Foundation and Higher tiers. Target marks
indicate scores approximating to performance at C grade and A* grade
levels.
